Pooran Chandra Pandey specializes in geopolitics, private sector development cooperation, bilateral aid, and public diplomacy. He served United Nations, private sector, and media across Asia and Africa in senior leadership roles including a 3-year stint as CEO of a Berlin-based international think tank (2016-2018) in Europe. He currently advises aid agencies, and the private sector and serves the board of the World Food Programme Trust for India (2016 onwards), among others.
Contributor to Springer Nature’s global encyclopedia, Pooran holds concurrent affiliations to Nkafu Policy Institute, Cameroon, UTS, Sydney, New Zealand Center for Global Studies, New Zealand, Middle East Institute, Asia Program, Washington DC, Hans Siedel Foundation, the Romanian Institute for Europe-Asia Studies, and Center for Economic Diplomacy, Croatia. Pooran has also edited two books- Leaving No One Behind: Sustainable Development Goals and South-South Cooperation (Blackwill Publishing Co., 2018) and Climate Change, Society and Sustainable Development: Agenda for Action (Times Group Books., 2010).
At Global TechnoPolitics Forum, Pooran is developing a book project titled- Reimagining Universal Basic Income in the Digital Age.
Pooran holds an M.Phil degree in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, having held full scholarship positions at UNEP-Tongji Institute on Environment for Sustainable Development, Shanghai (2019), Swedish Institute, Stockholm (2010), and Asian Productivity Organization, Tokyo (2003).
He is also a Chevening Scholar.
