Peter Vale Joins GTPF Executive Board

The Global TechnoPolitics Forum (GTPF) is pleased to announce that Peter Vale has joined GTPF’s Executive Board. Professor Vale has been a valued member of GTPF’s Advisory Board and will continue to serve in that capacity alongside his new executive role.

Peter Vale is Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for the Advancement of Scholarship, South Africa. He was the founding Director of the Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study (JIAS) and is Nelson Mandela Professor of Politics Emeritus at Rhodes University. He is also an Honorary Professor in the Africa Earth Observatory Network (AEON), of which he was a founding member.

Professor Vale is an elected member or fellow of multiple leading academies, including the Academy of Science of South Africa, the Royal Society of South Africa, the World Academy for Arts and Science, and the African Academy of Science, among others.

His distinctions include the International Medal of the University of Utrecht and Rhodes University’s Distinguished Senior Research Award. In 2013, he delivered the E.H. Carr Memorial Lecture at Aberystwyth University.

Peter Vale’s appointment strengthens GTPF’s intellectual leadership and global perspective at a time when questions of power, knowledge, and governance are central to debates on technology and geopolitics. GTPF is honored to deepen its collaboration with him through his expanded role.
