Firouzeh Afsharnia was born in pre-revolutionary Iran and later emigrated to the U.S. for higher education. She holds a B.A. from Boston University; an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California and a Master of International Service from the American University in Washington D.C. with a focus on Conflict & Development. She has over ten years experience in corporate America with financial systems applications; nine years in film & TV post production; and over fifteen years with international organizations in the UK, Africa and Central Asia. She served at the United Nations first in New York, then as part of the largest UN Peacekeeping Mission in DR Congo; consulted for the World Bank and various NGO’s, and served on several election observation missions with The Carter Center in Nepal, DRC and Ivory Coast. She speaks English, Farsi, French and Portuguese and is currently based in Los Angeles.
